Our Geoheritage at STAKE
Geoheritage:
"Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour sauver les collections géologiques ?"
This is El-Watan's today article about the issue.
Geologists from all times contributed to this incredibly rich collection with rare pieces since 1842 & now it is endangered. These fine pieces of our geological history are being wasted & poorly preserved in a museum that is facing & has repeatedly faced a risk of removal from "La Faculté Centrale d'Alger" just because some people needed that space for a reason or another.
Alarming! Something must be done & quickly...

Welcome to the Algeria National Chapter of YES Network.
The YES Network is an international association of early-career geoscientists who are primarily under the age of 35 years and are from universities, geoscience organizations and companies from across the world.
The Algeria National Chapter of the International YES Network aims to promote and build upon the mission of the global YES Network "Promoting Earth Science for Society" whilst focusing on current issues facing our country within the Geoscience fields. YES Network members are students and professionals from universities, geoscience organizations and companies from across the world.
Despite of being an 'Oil & Gas' producer country, Earth Sciences in Algeria are still underrated or unknown to people and most of the undergraduate students, not to mention the endless list of geological sites. The Algeria National Chapter aims to create an exchange platform between student, professional and early-career geoscientists to promote the Algerian geosciences at both the national and international levels especially amongst the youth.
Please feel free to send pictures of you in the field, publications and anything else that you may find relevant. Contact us at yesnetworkalgeria@gmail.com
